Canon has Look Up Tables (LUTs) on their website for their Cinema EOS line of cameras – the C100, C300 and C500. These LUTs are designed to convert from Canon Log to Rec709 or Cineon. Originally, they were published with only the C300 in mind, but they were later updated to work for the C100 and C500 as well.

The Canon C100 is very popular with run-and-gun operators in the documentary world, and Canon recently announced an upgrade for the C100 that allows for continuous tracking autofocus with Canon's entire EF lineup. The upgrade will also increase the speed of the camera's existing one-shot autofocus by around two times and provide an AF lock, which will enable the user to change the image framing while keeping the desired focus point, a feature that is especially useful for run-and-gun filmmakers.

One of the advantages of the C100 sharing a sensor with the C300 and C500 is the interoperability between scene files. While the C300 and C500 can share profiles with a bit of simple computer know-how, if you want to use those same profiles on the C100, you'll have to manually copy the settings. I took our C300 scene files and copied the settings to the C100 - our vectorscope confirmed that the profiles are nearly identical, although the C100 tends to be slightly less saturated.
