Originally introduced in the new 70D DSLR, dual-pixel AF utilizes two separate photo diodes on each pixel; by continuously comparing the two photo diode outputs, the camera's processor interpolates this information, providing unprecedented autofocus performance, even with constantly moving objects. The upgrade is expected to deliver in February 2014 for $500, and will require shipping your camera to a Canon service center. For more details, read the full press release on Canon's site.
