This version adds interval recording in XAVC and RAW with intervals of one second up to 24 hours. It also adds software support for several of Sony's optional camera upgrades, including the highly anticipated ProRes and DNxHD Encoder Board, the F5 4K upgrade, and the ENG Build-Up Kit. Another addition is a white balance A and B memory setting, which streamlines the white balance procedure for run-and-gun camera operators. Some of the highlights included in v5.0 include:
- Supports additional codecs, Apple ProRes and Avid DNxHD with CBK-55PD
- Supports the optional ENG and documentary shoulder-mount dock CBK-55BK
- Supports the optional 4K upgrade for PMW-F5 with??CBK-Z55FX
- Interval Record function with XAVC and RAW
- Memory A/B white balance in Custom mode
- Added selectable functions for Assignable Button (White Balance A/B toggle)
- Noise suppression is available in Cine EI mode
