Teased at the C300 launch back in November, the Canon EOS-1D C is a 4K (4096x2160) capable HDSLR that can also shoot full HD (1920x1080).

Shape has just introduced the BP7000 camera rig. The unit features three milled channels for securing your camera, making it quick and easy to find the balance point of your camera.

The Sony PMW-100 is the latest addition to the XDCAM HD422 lineup. It has many of the same features found in the PMW-EX1R camera, but with the addition of 50 Mbps 422 XDCAM recording to SxS cards. This makes the camera a perfect companion for the PDW-F800, PDW-700 and PMW-500 cameras.

ARRI is now offering three ALEXA cameras with a 4:3 Super-35 sensor designed for anamorphic: ALEXA Plus 4:3, ALEXA Studio and ALEXA M. The ALEXA Plus 4:3 offers many of the same features as the ALEXA Studio, including the anamorphic desqueeze license, high-speed license and DNxHD license. However, it still has an electronic viewfinder, as opposed to the spinning mirror optical viewfinder system found in the ALEXA Studio.

We stopped by the Sound Devices booth to check out the latest in their line of PIX recorders. The PIX 260 has much the same function as the PIX 240 and PIX 220, but it's designed to fit into a rack.

I stepped over to the Canon booth today to get a little hands-on time with the Canon C500. The camera has many of the same features found in the C300, but with the addition of 4K output. The camera can output a 4K RAW video stream up to 60p in 4096x2160 mode, and 120fps in 4096x1080 mode. It can also output a quad HD signal for monitoring.

Nexto's NVS series of backup devices just got a feature upgrade with the addition of Wi-Fi to the NVS2525 portable storage device.

With HD-SDI and HDMI inputs, peaking, zebras and a 3.5" 960x640 resolution panel, the Alphatron EVF035W-3G Electric Viewfinder will work well on any compact HD camera.

Canon supplied one of the first production CN-E 30-300 Cinema Zooms for AbelCine's optical technicians to evaluate. We put the lens through our usual battery of tests, and we were very impressed. The 30-300 has excellent contrast and sharpness, with very low flaring and high corner-to-corner resolution and brightness.
