NAB '12: Sony PMW-100

The Sony PMW-100 is the latest addition to the XDCAM HD422 lineup. It has many of the same features found in the PMW-EX1R camera, but with the addition of 50 Mbps 422 XDCAM recording to SxS cards. This makes the camera a perfect companion for the PDW-F800, PDW-700 and PMW-500 cameras.

It features a newly developed 1/2.9-inch "Exmor" CMOS sensor with full 1920x1080 resolution. The Sony PMW-100 also incorporates HD/SD-SDI output, Composite output, Genlock input, and timecode input/output (via a switch). The camera itself is extremely light and compact, making it great for handheld run-and-gun situations. Pricing has not yet been announced, but the camera will begin shipping May 2012.
