Haven't been able to get your hands on a new VariCam 35 yet? Or curious about the fastest frame rate and highest codec you can do in V-RAW? Panasonic just released a VariCam Camera Simulator for their VariCam 35, VariCam 35 with Codex V-RAW recorder, and VariCam HS. This is a great tool to familiarize yourself with the VariCam's functions before a shoot, troubleshoot a question from on set, or simply study up on the camera's functionality.

RED has just announced their newest digital cinema camera body, the SCARLET-W, which represents the next step up in the RED family. The SCARLET-W also features RECODE RAW and ProRes file formats but is a bit more feature rich than the RAVEN with interchangeable lens mounts and greater resolution. At at a lower price point than the WEAPON, it ideal for those who only need 5K resolution.

RED just unveiled the latest camera body in their digital cinema lineup, the RAVEN. Harnessing a 4K DRAGON sensor in a compact and flexible form, the RAVEN is the smallest option in the RED lineup.

One of the most exciting announcements out of this year's IBC show was DJI's reveal of their new Zenmuse X5 series. The Zenmuse X5 is a Micro Four Thirds camera upgrade built specifically for the Inspire 1 aerial platform.
