The PLx Extenders have been designed for AbelCine by IB/E Optics to be compatible with a wide range of PL-mount lenses. This chart lists zoom and prime lenses that have been tested with the PLx2, PLx1.4 and PLx1.4 Mark II. Keep in mind that if the maximum aperture of a lens is greater than the maximum input aperture of an adapter it will need to be stopped down to achieve a usable image.
Recently I had the opportunity to test the brand new IBE Optics PLx1.4, which just started shipping this month, out in the field. I chose to test it alongside the PLx2 in a pure run-n-gun situation in various spots around Chicago.
It's been almost two years since we introduced the line of adapters that IB/E designed exclusively for AbelCine - and at this year's NAB, we're debuting the latest versions. The line now includes the HDx2 Mark II, the HDx35 Mark II, and the newest, the PLx2, which doubles the focal length of 35mm PL-mount lenses.
