The Slow Mo Guys are creator/cinematographer Gavin Free and co-host Dan Gruchy. Free and Gruchy primarily use a Phantom Flex4K high-speed camera to capture various forms of natural and physical phenomenon in super slow motion at 1,000 frames per second. Popular episode subjects include jumping into a giant six-foot water balloon, diving into 1,000 mouse traps, underwater bullets (filmed at 27,450 fps with a Phantom v1610), and much more. Although 4K compressed recording is still in the works for the Phantom Flex4K, you can now use Convergent Design's Odyssey 7Q and 7Q+ to capture high-speed 4K playback from the Phantom camera.

Samsung is launching a new series of consumer "Ultra HD" displays with 4K resolution. To show them off, the consumer electronics giant needed to produce some stunning 4K content, so Samsung arranged to incorporate the Flex4K into their campaign. They used New York City as a backdrop and called on Los Angeles-based Director of Photography Morgan Schmidt.
