The UWP-D series features a true diversity receiver utilizing dual antennas. This allows the receiver to always select the antenna with the strongest signal, stabilizing reception, which in turn minimizes RF interference. The receiver's digital design offers improved range over analog wireless systems and eliminates static in the event of a signal drop out.
Traditional AA batteries can be used to power the system, and its battery case design allows for incredibly fast and easy charges. The transmitter and receiver can also be powered with 5v DC via a Mini USB connector. Combined with a??D-Tap to Mini USB voltage-regulated cable from Wooden Camera, the transmitter and receiver can be powered via D-Tap, allowing them to integrate with nearly any broadcast or digital cinema camera package. One highly unique feature of the UWP series is its use of Sony's MI Shoe technology. Attaching the wireless receiver to Sony's SMAD-P3 MI shoe adapter allows a Sony a7S or FS7, along with a variety of other Sony cameras, to power the receiver as well as pass audio directly to the camera without the need of power or audio cables.
The UWP-D11 kit includes the UTX-B03 bodypack transmitter and the URX-P03 receiver. The UWP-D16 kit includes the same transmitter and receiver set as the D11, but adds the UTX-P03 Plug-on Transmitter for handheld, on-camera applications, as well as boom applications. Additionally, the plug-on transmitter features +48V Phantom power. Both kits are now available from AbelCine.
