It is equipped with a muting function and a BMP-type microphone input connector. The RF power output can be switched between high and low. It is also equipped with a MIC/LINE input switching function to support a variety of input levels.
The Bodypack Transmitter includes a LED indicator to provide battery level and charging status. It also features an indicator for audio input levels.
Plug the supplied Lav Mic into the provided BMP-type connector for audio input.
The Transmitter's mute function can be turned on/off with the push of a button.
An infrared detector receives the frequency and compander mode set on the tuner.
Power
Accepts (2) AA batteries (alkaline, nickel metal hydride, or lithium batteries).
A USB connector allows for a portable power supply (5 V DC, with an optional USB micro B cable). If using rechargeable batteries while the USB is plugged into a power source, the batteries will charge.
Display Screen
Use the display screen for a review of Transmitter functions, including: battery status, RF transmission indicator (Transmitting / Transmission Stopped), RF transmission power indicator, audio input level meter, peak indicator (lights up when the signal is 3 dB below the level at which distortion begins as a warning of excess input level), input level indicator, and menu display functions.
The Set Button is supplied to adjust displayed function settings and enter displayed values.
Transmitter Settings & Display Modes
There are (3) menu display modes to select:
- Simple Mode - displays only the required settings for transmitting audio
- Extended Mode - displays all configuration menus
- Transmission Stopped Mode - allos settings to be modified when RF transmission has stopped
You can set the audio input attenuation level or ATT in 3 dB increments to reduce noise distortion.
You can reduce noise called by wind by adjusting the Low-Cut Filter: Off (no filtering), Low (100 Hz cutoff frequency), Mid (150 Hz cutoff frequency), or High (200 Hz cutoff frequency).
The transmitter also allows you to display accummulated run time as a guide to total usage time.
True Diversity Reception System
The UWP-D system achieves exceptionally stable audio signal being delivered from two independent receiver sections within the unit. Optimum signal quality is delivered by the two receivers sections and a comparison circuit constantly pulls the one with the best signal to give dropout free transmission.
Robust Metal Body
The UTX-B03 belt-pack transmitter is made of strong, durable metal. Metal construction supports reliable use in rough operating conditions.
Line Input
The UWP-D Series system has line input available for added flexibility.
NOTE: If a lavalier microphone other than the one supplied is connected, the proper performance may not be obtained.
URX-P03 Wireless Receiver
This compact and portable URX-P03 Wireless Receiver includes a wide RF bandwidth (UHF Channels 42/51: 638 to 698 MHz), USB charging and power, AA battery power, automatic channel scanning, plus infrared synch between transmitter and receiver, mic/line switchable input, and PLL-synthesized tuning.
Mount this receiver on-board your digital cinema camera, DSLR, or camcorder. You can adjust the angle of the antennas to improve reception. A UHF Phase Locked Loop or PLL is utilized to lock the phase of your transmission frequency between Tx and Rx. Link the two with an auto search and link via infrared connection.
You can also plug in your headphones to live monitor your audio recording, using the stereo mini jack plug.
High-Quality Sound
The UWP-D Series wireless microphone systems uses Sony Digital Audio Processing to improve sound quality and transient response performance compared to conventional analogue wireless systems. It provides superb transient response performance. Analogue companding systems cannot accurately reproduce sounds such as a bell, tee shot or handclap, but Sony Digital Audio Processing reproduces them faithfully.
Large Display yet Compact Body
An LCD display offers battery life, RF levels, audio output status, channel and fequency details, and more.
The URX-P03 portable receiver is designed to fit even small camcorders or DSLR cameras, with dimensions of 2.48 x 3.22 x 0.94" (63 x 82 x 23.8mm) and a weight of approx. 0.38 lb (176 g), including batteries.
The transmitters and receivers also feature a bright display, significantly larger than previous UWP models to make them easily readable in all situations.
Fast & Easy Channel Scan & Automatic Channel Setting
With its Clear Channel Scan, Active Channel Scan function and IR Sync features, the system detects unoccupied channels and selects the most appropriate channel automatically, for fast and easy system setup.
The Auto Set channel mode allows the user to find and set available frequencies to use within the operating frequencies of the system. The receiver will automatically set the transmitter channel using the IR Sync feature.
Wide Frequency Coverage
The extra wide switching bandwidth covers a wide area, with a wide choice of channels available across multiple models - please refer to product specifications for more information.

Various Acessories (Mic Clip, Windscreen, Belt Clip & Cables)
Mic Clip
A microphone clip is supplied with this ENG package. The Lavalier Microphone slides into a wire ring opening, which will expand to hold the Lav Mic. Simply align the groove on the base of the Lav Mic with the wire ring to secure the microphone in place.
The Mic Clip includes a cable securing point so you can loop your mic cable and attach it to the clip for a more secure hold. Tuck the cable into the clamp built into the base of the Mic Clip, opposite the jaws.
Windscreen
The foam windscreen easily attaches to your Lav Mic. Align and insert the mic into the base opening of the windscreen.
2x Belt Clips
Use the (2) holes on either side of the Transmitter or Receiver to secure the belt clip. The base of the clip will flare out from your Tx or Rx so that you can tuck it into a pocket or lift it slightly to ease it onto your camera rig.
You may need to use a pencil, pen, or other narrow object to remove the Belt Clip, should you need to do so. Insert the object between the Belt Clip and the Transmitter, then gently pry the end of the Belt Clip from the hole in the side of your Transmitter.
Shoe Mount Adapter
Attach the Belt Clip prior to attaching the Shoe Mount Adapter. You will need to install the Belt Clip upside down though, so the flared end is up near your antenna, instead of down below.
Once the Belt Clip is in place, lift the flared end slightly, then slide in the Shoe Mount Adapter. You will align the horizontal groove at the sides of the Shoe Mount Adapter with the edges of the Belt Clip to secure it in place.
NOTE: Batteries, cameras, headphones, and additional accessories are sold separately.
