One of the most important features of the new Arri AMIRA is its ability to load 3D LUTs (Look Up Tables), which really allows you to modify the way the camera looks. The ALEXA allows for basic LUTs with ASC CDL adjustments, but the AMIRA goes a step beyond that to allow for full customization of the image.
To support this new feature, Arri has released a piece of software called the AMIRA Color Tool. This software allows you to create LUTs on top of any Arri Log C clip, or on top of a built-in image, and export these for use in the camera or with other post production tools. If you create an AMIRA LUT and use it in the camera, then Log C clips created in the camera will have it stored in metadata. The AMIRA Color Tool can then automatically apply the LUT when viewed.
