The AbelCine Feature Film Grant is a program for Film Independent Fellows, alumni of the LA Film Festival, and Film Independent Spirit Award Nominees. A qualified filmmaker will be chosen by Film Independent to be loaned a Sony F55 camera package, including lenses and other electronic and mechanical accessories, for his or her feature film production.
In order to submit for Grant Period 3 of the AbelCine Feature Film Grant, filmmakers must apply on the Film Independent website -- be sure to read through the qualifications and eligibility restrictions thoroughly before applying. The application deadline is January 15 and the winner will be announced in February.
All submissions will be reviewed by Film Independent in conjunction with AbelCine. The strength of the creative team and the uniqueness of the project will be taken into consideration as we choose the winner. Both Film Independent and AbelCine will oversee the administration of the grant and monitor the production of the winning filmmaker's production.
Maine, the inaugural winner of the AbelCine Feature Film Grant, recently completed principal photography. The film is slated for a festival premiere and theatrical release this year.
