The ARRI SkyPanel is an LED soft light that is packed with features. The SkyPanel comes in two different configurations and three sizes. In this blog, I will take a closer look at the S-60C model.

The Litepanels Astra 1x1 Panel lineup now consists of eight models, with the latest being the Astra 1x1 Soft Bi-Color LED Panel that was announced at NAB 2016. The Astra 1x1 family is known as being extremely portable, which DPs know means faster lighting setups and potentially more scenes completed in one day. They are also extremely flexible due to their bi-color settings, battery options, and light modifiers.

Litepanels' Astra series is designed with premium quality, high CRI, surface-mount LEDs, which are paired with custom designed TIR (total internal reflection) optics. The design follows the one square foot form factor of many popular Litepanels models.

On Saturday, October 8, AbelCine held its first Fall Tech Expo. Taking place in our Chicago location on the Cinespace Studios lot, the expo featured a number of manufacturers displaying new gear for attendees to get their hands on.

ARRI's range of LED lighting has expanded with their SkyPanel fixtures, and Megan covered some of the updates at NAB this year.

It was a busy NAB for our tech specialists with visits to the most interesting booths at the show, as well as Tech Talks and training workshops on the AbelCine presentation stage. With so much to cover, we wanted to round up all of our NAB blogs and presentations in one place for you.

I had the chance to drop by the Flanders Scientific booth, where Flanders CEO Bram Desmet showed off their new BoxIO LUT boxes, as well as the 17" version of their popular DM250 display, the DM170.

There was a lot to see at ARRI's NAB booth this year. Andy and Megan stopped by to get a closer look at all of their new products including the ALEXA SXT, coming this summer with many new features including six new recording formats and new color management options.
