Convergent Design Odyssey7Q+ Updates

Convergent Design has been busy updating the firmware for the Odyssey7Q and 7Q+. They've had several firmware updates over the last couple of months, all with some major changes and additions.

I thought I would do a run down of some of the key features added to the system, but with so many updates I had to break this into three separate videos. The new features are very impressive, so check out all the videos, and let us know what you think. In the first video above, I cover the Odyssey's LUT functionality, along with the new vectorscope and spot meter tools.

In the second video, I show how the Odyssey7Q can record Canon Raw from a C300 Mark II, and also how it can now record up to 240 fps in 2K when paired with the Sony FS7.

Finally, the third video showcases support for ProRes 4444XQ 12-bit recording, and the brand new Apollo (Quad Split Recording) mode.

The Odyssey7Q acts as a great onboard monitor and is capable of recording multiple formats from multiple cameras, but when paired with the C500, it allows for 4K Raw, 2K and HD external recording. What's especially useful with this combo is the ability to record 4K Raw externally, while at the same time recording HD internally with matched filenames.
