In the Core SWX booth at NAB 2019, I had the chance to speak with Sales Manager Jose Flores about the company’s new NPF Flat Pack Battery, a great solution for keeping a low profile on director’s monitors and external monitors, such as those from SmallHD.
Utilizing the familiar NPF form factor, also known as “L Series,” from the Sony battery models they're modeled after, the Flat Pack uses the standard voltage spec of 7-17V DC. However, Core’s solution provides a very welcome 60Wh of capacity while giving the back of, for example, a SmallHD 702 being used as a director’s monitor, a uniform profile (the battery is only about as deep as the monitor itself). The best part may be the price: only $90 list. Watch the video above for more details on this clever, space-saving solution.
