The Fresh Perspectives in Cinematography Grant, presented by AbelCine in partnership with ARRI and the ASC is returning for a second season. The 2024 recipients of the grant, offered exclusively to the current cohort of the ASC Vision Mentorship Program, have finally been announced, so here's a look at what the first year recipients have been working on recently.

New York, NY – September 19, 2023 – AbelCine is pleased to have sponsored the 2023 edition of the Sundance Institute’s Directors Lab through the loan of equipment from our Rental inventory. We are pleased to announce the three recipients of this year's Fresh Perspectives in Cinematography, an AbelCine cinematographers grant program in partnership with ARRI and the ASC: Jesse Aragon, Siwei Li, and Junior Pereira.

PANO and AbelCine are pleased to announce The Cinematographer’s Lab, a multi-week workshop designed to help working and emerging cinematographers take their careers to the next level. Combining online and in-person sessions on technical and production skills, the workshop will be powered by Canon gear.

This past Saturday, AbelCine held its first Spring Tech Showcase event at its Industry City location in Brooklyn, NY. The day was full of new technology, hands-on demos, inspirational panels, and much more. More than 15 camera, lens, lighting, and technology manufacturers showed off their latest gear, including some exciting product first looks. Panel discussions and educational breakout sessions took place throughout the space as well.

This past weekend, AbelCine was a sponsor and participant in Filmscape Chicago, a Midwest camera and lighting trade show surrounded by a weekend of custom classes, demonstrations, and events.
