I have rigged and shot with C300 bodies in documentary, independent narrative, and reality scenarios. The camera’s small size has always been a boon, but the implementation of certain functions or ergonomic oversights have always rankled a bit. While many of the ergonomic changes might seem small to some, any seasoned operator or camera assistant knows that the little things add up over the course of a 12+ hour day.
In this video, I explore how the improved ergonomics of the C500 Mk II can be put to use in a few different scenarios that are common with previous generations of EOS Cinema cameras, such as run n' gun, gimbals, and lightweight Steadicams.
