At the Bench: Cartoni's New JIBO Lightweight Jib

The folks from Cartoni stopped by the other day to show us their new JIBO compact jib. What struck me right away was its modular design. The jib is made up of three sections, so assembly is fast and easy. Conveniently, all three sections fit into a portable wheeled case.

The JIBO is a great tool for the "run and gun" shooter or solo operator who wants to add movement to a shot. The base goes on 100mm legs, but there is an adapter that allows it to fit onto Mitchell legs for heavier setups. Watch my video above to learn more about the new JIBO.

The JIBO's three sections make it super easy to set up. How easy? I stepped outside the office to time myself setting up the JIBO with a Sony F3. I managed to get everything balanced and ready in about four minutes. After that quick set up, I was able to get some test shots, just to show off the JIBO's smooth movement. Check out the video below for my One Man Setup, as well as the test footage I shot.
