ARRI's cforce mini RF Motor made big news when it was introduced at NAB this year, since it can be wirelessly controlled by the ARRI WCU-4 and SXU without requiring a separate motor controller. But when we got the motor in and I had a chance to play with it, I realized it could do so much more.
The mini RF motor really combines many of the features found in the ARRI UMC and AMC motor controllers right into the unit itself. This includes the ability to accept lens files mapped on the WCU-4. And, with the right cables the motor can work with just about any camera. Check out my video to learn more about the ARRI cforce mini RF motor, as well as my previous video on the WCU-4 to learn more about that unit.
We've also created a couple of custom kits that combine the WCU-4, SXU-1 and the RF mini motors to build a full wireless system, which you can see in the side bar.
