The ARRI WCU-4 (Wireless Control Unit) has become a staple of the industry. In this video, I start to explore all the rigging possibilities for the handset.
Here, I start with the UMC (Universal Motor Control) attached to the ALEXA Classic. The original ALEXAs do not have the electronics built in for FIZ operations, so I take you through steps needed to calibrate and control lenses using this combo. Look out for future videos demonstrating more builds with various ARRI cameras and accessories.
Please note: Shortly after shooting this video, ARRI released SUP 2.0 for the UMC. It is now possible to transmit a lens file saved on the WCU-4 to the UMC-4.
