NAB 2019: Wooden Camera Lineup

I spent some time at the Wooden Camera booth today talking to Ryan Schorman about their new products and updates to existing Wooden Camera favorites.

This year, Wooden Camera has focused on new accessories and improvements to their existing products. The new Zip Box Pro 4.5” Round Filter Adapter is a new accessory for the existing Zip Box Pro 4x5” mattebox. It allows you to use a round polarizer and rotate it very easily on the fly, using the rotating gear to get the amount of polarization needed for your shot. With this set up, you are still able to use three 4x5” filters. This is a great accessory to add to this lightweight mattebox.

The improvements and new features of the Shoulder Rig v3 have made it more user configurable, lightweight, and set friendly. For example, the dovetail is still the same ARRI dovetail but is longer and lighter, as well as featuring a new easier to use release mechanism. In addition, you can now replace the shoulder pad yourself when you need to, and set it down easily on set due to the new rubber bumpers. The new pivoting rosettes allow you to easily widen or narrow the grip placement. They also now feature telescoping rosette arms. These single version hand grips replace the longer and mid grips, as the single version can be shortened or lengthened depending on your preference.

Check out the video above to learn more and see them in action.
