The name Premista comes from a combination of Fujinon’s highly-regarded Premier-branded lenses (such as the Premier HK, ZK and XK PL-mount series) and VistaVision, the name for the full format cinema aperture created by Paramount in the 1950's. As the name would imply, these lenses cover the full format sensors of not only the Sony VENICE, ARRI ALEXA LF (and the forthcoming ALEXA Mini LF), and Canon C700 FF, but also the longer diagonal of the RED MONSTRO sensor. Both of the new lenses cover a 46.3mm diagonal, and the 28-100mm T2.9 will even cover the truly large format ARRI ALEXA 65 when shot in its 5.1K sensor mode. Both lenses also support the Cooke /i metadata protocol as well as the new XD extended metadata protocol from ZEISS.
