Both the new Hornet 200-C and Bee 50-C can produce a white light temperature between 1650-8000 Kelvin and offer full RGB hue and saturation control. As you might expect, the 200-C is a 200w fixture, equivalent to roughly a 1000w incandescent light, and the 50w 50-C provides output similar to a 200w traditional fixture. Even with all the added color functionality, both lights have retained the front diameter of the non-C versions and provide the same "speed ring" at the front for mounting modifiers and accessories made by numerous manufacturers to the ProFoto spec, as well as Hive's own modifiers. All C-series lights work with Hive's Bluetooth app, which gives lighting techs wireless control over saturation, hue, output, and color temperature.
Of course, all C-series lights work with wired DMX, but the latest 200-C and 50-C models also work with wireless DMX, especially since the 200-C may be used as a distant source owing to its "punch." Additionally, the new models also have new lighting effects such as police car, lightning, television simulation and more. In June, the 100-C, which debuted at NAB 2017, will receive the new effects as well via a firmware update. The new 50-C (~$600) and 200-C (~$1800) are available for pre-order now and are scheduled to ship in June. Check out the video above and for more information read the article at Newsshooter.
