Join us for our special Gear Up: Advances in High-Speed Image Capture event in NY!
On Friday, June 14, we're inviting you to a special evening event dedicated to high-speed imaging and lighting technology, including the full Phantom lineup and the new Phantom Onyx. Proper lighting is very important when shooting high-speed, so this event will also feature manufacturer booths on the showroom floor displaying the latest in powerful, flicker-free lighting. Attendees are encouraged to go hands-on with all the gear and get their questions answered by manufacturer specialists as well as our own AbelCine tech specialists. Snacks and refreshments will be served.
Additionally, the event will feature a special panel with guest speakers from The Shed who will be screening footage and talking about their practical experiences shooting high-speed, particularly highlighting the creative possibilities of the new Phantom Onyx.

Panelists
Matt Donovan
Matt is a Director and co-founder of production company The Shed, based in Manhattan, New York. His lifelong passion for film began with borrowed cameras and was honed at the University of Southern California. He began producing documentary television series with a small house in Harlem, then spent 5 years working for dozens of the worlds biggest brands (Coca Cola, Google, Samsung) at a marketing/innovation company in the East Village. Now he writes and directs brand work for clients like OXO, Delta & Pepsi, while keeping things fresh with self-driven documentary projects that have involved hitchhiking across the US, and more recently telling the stories of young people dreaming of a better life beyond public housing in Coney Island. He lives with his lovely wife, delightful newborn, and spirited rescue puppy at the base of a mountain surrounded by 100ft tall trees, one hour north of the city. Brandon Kelley
Brandon Kelley is a specialty camera operator, based in New York City. An avid SCUBA diver and underwater operator, Brandon teamed up with Ryan Hoffman to create As Above // So Below, a drone and underwater camera team. VR/360° is another niche camera market which Brandon enjoys exploring. Their VR work includes clients such as VISA, DASH and MyRadar.
Phantom and high speed work mark another of Brandon's passions. They've worked with artists such as Charlotte Gainsbourg and brands like Under Armour. Brandon is thrilled to have been selected as the technician for the newest Onyx camera tests with The Shed.

Matty McClain
Matty McClain is a New York based Director of Photography and co-founder of The Shed, a creative content studio which specializes in branded, commercial and documentary films. After attending Columbia College in Chicago he started shooting music videos and branded music content for SPIN and Pitchfork, eventually co-founding The Shed in 2013. As DP of The Shed Matty has shot for brands like Audi, Delta, OXO and Woodford Reserve as well as organizations such as the ACLU and Represent.Us.
