Join us on Thursday, August 6 for Creative Forces Online! This FREE event will feature director Abraham Felix and cinematographer Shannon Palmer who will discuss their experiences working together on projects such as the short films Win by Two and Jane. They will also talk about how they got started in the industry and what inspires them in their careers and beyond. The event will be hosted by AbelCine Technology Specialist Geoff Smith, with time for Q&A throughout.
Abraham Felix is a New Orleans-based director by way of writing and editing for print and television. Through narrative film, documentaries, commercials, and music videos, his work explores humanity and relational complexity with a thoughtful eye for detail. His debut narrative short film Jane (2018) premiered at the New Orleans Film Festival and screened in festivals nationwide. His work includes 2nd Unit direction for the feature film All Styles (2019), documentaries for nationally-recognized organizations, commercial projects for Spotify, Rakuten, YWCA, PreSonus, and many others. He is also a member of the fifth cohort of the Emerging Voices Program through the New Orleans Film Society. See more of his work at abefelix.co
Shannon Palmer is a New York-based cinematographer who uses her unique vision to tell powerful stories in a visually-striking way. Originally from Baltimore, Shannon is continually inspired by the human condition, and strives to subtly create a spark of intimacy between her subjects and the audience. She works on a wide variety of projects, including commercials, narratives, music videos, branded content, fashion films and documentaries. She has filmed for many brands including Gap, Girl Scouts, Google, Jordan, Planned Parenthood, Toyota, GNC, ESPN and more.
