Overview
Join us at AbelCine's Magic Hour, an afternoon mixer that brings tech, communities and craft together over drinks and great conversation.
Magic Hour is a great opportunity to meet up with your fellow creatives and experience emerging technology in a fun, unstructured setting.
Our next Magic Hour, on Wednesday, June 6, will focus on ARRI's new large format camera system. The ALEXA LF and Signature Primes will be on display and ARRI specialists will be on hand to answer questions. We can't wait to see you, so make sure to RSVP now!
This Week's Technology Focus
ARRI ALEXA LF
The ARRI ALEXA LF features a sensor slightly larger than full frame. The ALEXA LF records native 4K with ARRI's best overall image quality. The reliable ALEXA sensor you have come to know and love retains its natural colorimetry, while delivering an immersive, larger format aesthetic for filmmakers to explore creatively. ALEXA LF includes an exposure latitude of 14+ stops. It features low noise and a shallow depth of field to separate your subject in the foreground from the background. It also maintains pleasing skin tones and both HDR and WCG Workflows.
ARRI Signature Primes
The ARRI Signature Primes are designed specifically for use with the ARRI ALEXA LF camera. While the Signature Primes exemplify state-of-the-art optical precision, they have been designed to render organic, emotionally engaging images, gently softening and texturizing the large format with natural skin tones and creamy bokeh. A fast maximum aperture of T1.8 facilitates shallow depth of field and the smooth focus fall-off gives subjects heightened presence in the frame.
These lenses are fitted with the ARRI LPL mount, optimized for large-format sensors. A wider diameter and shorter flange focal depth allows the ARRI Signature Prime lenses and all future large-format optics to be small and lightweight, with a fast T-stop and pleasing bokeh.
