Dado Valentic is an award-winning colorist and color scientist with twenty years of experience. He is credited on more than 30 feature films and TV shows like Game of Thrones, Exodus, Marco Polo, Assassin and Sherlock Holmes. He has also graded more than 100 commercials for major brands like Nike, Audi, Chanel, Christian Dior, Lexus, Coca Cola, Red Bull, Panasonic, Sony and Samsung.
Outside of the grading theater, Dado continues to devote his time to the Color Grading Industry through his work as a researcher, developer, and an instructor. For more than a decade, Dado has worked as a lecturer at most major film and TV schools in the world such as: London International Film school, DFFB Berlin, International Colorist Academy, REDucation, Moscow Film School, SAE Oxford, Glasgow University, New York Film Academy, Australian National Film and TV school and many many more.
His unique approach to color has won him consulting contracts with some of the world’s leading production and post-production companies, where he was challenged with a task to improve workflows and image quality and ultimately help transition to 4K and HDR. Some of his clients include Dolby, CBS, Univision, GloboTV, BBC, Universal, Sony, Warner Bros, Netflix, British Film Institute, Comedy Central and Labo Digital.
Dado has also developed ‘Colourlab’, Color Management and Look development plugins for Davinci Resolve that have become industry standard and have been used on some of the most iconic films and TV shows. He is also a pioneer in the area of AI and image processing.
Since 2018 Dado has partnered with AbelCine to develop the most advanced training for professional colorists in the world. He is teaching exclusively at AbelCine training centers in New York and Los Angeles where he, together with the AbelCine training team, delivers Feature Film and Commercial Masterclasses for Davinci Resolve as well as HDR and Color Managed Workflow training that is attended by some of the best professional colorists today.
