Overview
The ARRI Dual Wireless Video Receiver WVR-1 Set includes the following items:

Two standalone Wireless Video Receivers (WVR-1) receive the signal from the integrated video transmitter of the ALEXA SXT W (sold separately) or the standalone WVT-1 Wireless Video Transmitter (not included). Up to four Receivers can be paired with one Transmitter.
Depending on atmospheric conditions and line of sight, the WVR-1 can receive a signal from as far as 2,000' (600m) from the transmitter. The minimum distance for all units is at least 3' (1m). The ARRI Wireless Video System can be used to transmit and monitor HDR images, as it transmits a 10 bit signal. The HD wireless video transmission includes 2 Channel embedded audio, timecode, and the HD-SDI REC flag.
The system automatically and continually scans the airwaves and selects frequency channels with low interference levels. This is called DFS (Dynamic Frequency Selection). In DFS, all channels are continuously monitored and ranked for immediate use by the WVS. In case of interference on any channel, the system immediately hops to a better channel without losing even a single pixel of video. Due to legal restrictions, manual frequency selection is not available.
The housing is spray (water) resistant and dustproof aluminum with integrated collars for antenna and BNC connectors, and offers several mounting options. The WVR-1 also has a wide operating temperature range, from -4°F to 113°F (-20°C to 45°C).
WVR-1 accept a wide input voltage range from 10.5V to 34V. Additionally, the receiver can be powered from an AC power supply, Gold Mount, V-Mount, or SONY L series battery. The receiver has a 12V power output for accessories like a director's monitor, reducing the size and weight of handheld monitor configurations. Depending on your configuration and the power consumption of additional accessories, a single L series battery might not be able to supply enough power through the PWR OUT connector of the WVR-1. In that case, either add a second L series battery or use the Receiver Power Supply RPS-1 (included).
NOTE: The ARRI Wireless Video System uses the 5GHz unlicensed frequency band (blue antenna color code), while the SXT W WiFi and ECS radios work in the 2.4 GHz range (white antenna color code). The new antennas supplied by ARRI work for both bands and have a blue and a white ring.
IMPORTANT NOTE: The WVR-1 cannot process 3D LUTs, as it takes whatever signal comes from the camera and outputs it without any modifications.
Software Update:
ARRI has released WVS Software Update Package (SUP) 4.3.26, shipping with all ARRI Wireless Video System components: integrated HD video transmitters inside ALEXA LF and ALEXA SXT W cameras, Wireless Video Transmitter WVT-1 and Wireless Video Receiver WVR-1.
This SUP adds the following new features and changes:
- WVS SUP 4.3.26 improves the reliability and signal robustness of the integrated wireless video transmitters within ALEXA LF and ALEXA SXT W cameras
- Due to a faulty calibration, these transmitters were not able to supply full transmission power to the antennas with software before WVS SUP 4.3.26
- The stand-alone Wireless Video Transmitter WVT-1 and the Wireless Video Receiver WVR-1 are not affected by this
- SDI OUT 1/2 of the Wireless Video Receiver WVR-1 now include the correct VPID (Video Payload Identifier)
- This allows using the output of WVR-1 with a variety of monitors and converters with automatic signal detection
- To benefit from this bug fix, the WVR-1 needs WVS SUP 4.3.26 installed
