Matthews 24x36" Road Rag Kit

RoadRags and RoadRags II are a patented, portable lighting modification system that allow the location photographer/videographer the ability to quickly and easily duplicate studio lighting effects on location using their portable lights.

RoadRags II, Matthews RoadRags Bag, comes with exactly the same items as original RoadRags except they are manufactured in the larger configuration. RoadRags includes:

• 2x folding 24"x36" frames
• 1x single scrim
• 1x double scrim
• 1x artificial silk
• 1x black flag
• 1x convenient carrying bag

Optional reflector panels are also available for purchase separately. 

The elastic corded frames easily fold for storing and transporting. A simple flick of the wrist is all that's required to quickly open the frame, making it ready for use. By using the different materials the photographer/cinematographer/videographer is able to quickly create contrasts, different light ratios, diffusion or block the light. You will slide a scrim or artificial silk or black flag onto an open frame to create your flags. 

Using Scrims & Flags

Each component of the RoadRags II Kit will modify your light in different ways. Here is a general view of what you can use each flag or scrim for on set.

Black Flag - blocks all light. Use this like your French flags or a barndoor to block light completely.

Single Scrim - cuts down background light on your subject. It also reduces the exposure of the ambient background light.

Double Scrim - further cuts down background light and the exposure of the ambient background light.

Artificial Silk - reduces or diffuses the light overall.
