ZEISS Loxia 25mm f/2.4 Lens for Sony E Mount

The ZEISS Loxia 25mm f/2.4 Lens for Sony E Mount features a reworked optical design that has been specially developed using seven lens elements for the high-resolution, full-frame sensors of the mirrorless Sony α series. This means that Loxia lenses can make the most of the mirrorless, full frame system, while giving you all the creative possibilities of "classic" photography, with manual focus at the same time. The Loxia 2.4/25 is ideal for photographers who want to capture even the tiniest details in a wide-angle photo or video.

Despite its compact form factor, the ZEISS Loxia 2.4/25 is a universal wide-angle lens that offers outstanding image performance across the entire image field of a full-frame sensor, equally adept at capturing landscapes, architecture, or subjects in close-up against a broad background. ZEISS Loxia lenses also provide everything you need to shoot high quality video, such as the unique DeClick feature for smooth adjustment of the aperture.

Originally developed for SLR cameras requiring a long back focal distance for short focal lengths because of the mirror box (the distance between the back lens element and the film plane must be considerably longer than the focal length), ZEISS Distagon lenses (retrofocus design) are also ideal for mirrorless system cameras thanks to their optimized ray path. Even with longer focal lengths, the high-performance Distagon optical design enables consistently good correction all the way to the corners of the image and very low field curvature.

DeClick Feature

This Loxia lens features the DeClick option where you can declick the aperture’s locking mechanism using a supplied tool and an adjustment screw on the bayonet surface. For video applications, you can now eliminate unwanted differences in brightness as you pan the camera.

Manual Focus

An ergonomic design ensures that your manipulation of this Loxia lens will produce a controlled result. These lenses include a large rotation angle to enable precise focusing. Your focus changes will be reflected inside the viewfinder. With a precise engraving in both meters and feet, the depth of focus scale provides added support to your manual focusing.

Virtually Distortion-Free Optics

ZEISS compensates for distortion through the Loxia’s optical design. New composition possibilities open up for strategic perspectives and angles. The design avoids the common distortion of straight lines not within the image center so you won't obtain a curved shape.

Full-Metal Casing

This Loxia 85mm lens features a precision-engineered, full-metal casing with a grippy focus and aperture rings also made of metal. A special sealing ring on the bayonet protects the interface between the camera and the lens. The Loxia lenses were designed for durability to support decades of hard use.
