Overview
The Tiffen 138mm Mattebox-Mountable Variable ND Filter is a unique, versatile and flexible tool, providing the user with the convenience of multiple Neutral Density grades in one unit. Primarily used as a photographic tool for controlling depth of field and exposure, the Variable ND concept of light control has migrated into the moving digital image market, due to its speed and ease of use.
This VND filter is housed in a rubber donut, designed to fit into the rear 143mm port of a rod-mounted mattebox, and is compatible with a wide range of mattebox manufacturers.
Features:
- Includes a Rubber Donut & 114mm light prevention threaded rear ring
- The 114mm light prevention ring will accept ARRI R2 compatible threaded reduction rings
- Up to 6-stops Tiffen VND* (Variable Neutral Density) with index markings (focal length dependent) with a minimum of 2-stops and a maximum of 8-stops (ND0.6 to ND2.4)
- The ultra-compact design does not negatively impact the original field of view of a standard rear 138mm filter ring
- Fits directly into rod-mounted matteboxes with a 143mm diameter rear filter ring port
- Compatible with a variety of mattebox manufacturers
