ARRI SXU-1 Single Axis Unit

The ARRI SXU-1 Single Axis Unit is a simple single channel hand unit that can be configured to control focus, iris, or zoom. The SXU-1 can be used with the WCU-4 for separate iris control in situations where subtle exposure adjustments are required during travelling shots. Alternatively, it can be used with the SMC-1 Single Motor Controller, providing a simple, low-cost option for productions that do not require multi-axis wireless lens control.

The focus knob contains an integrated light source that shines through the wide focus ring in low light conditions, providing clearly readable focus marks at all times.

The optional Rigger Grip (K2.0000849) handgrip (sold separately) for SXU-1 includes UNC 3/8"-16 threads on two sides that allow mounting on C-stands and other common hard points.  

The SXU-1 embodies the reliability and durability for which ARRI is famous. Wear and tear parts are replaceable at rental level, and the worldwide ARRI Service network ensures rapid second level support if needed. New firmware versions can be installed to the unit via SD card.

Software Updates:

Software Update Packet (SUP) 1.1.5 for the Single Axis Unit SXU-1.

IMPORTANT NOTE: This software update requires the previous installation of SXU-1 SUP 1.1.4. If you cannot install version 1.1.4 or 1.1.5 please install pre 1.1 first (for the next step install 1.1.4, then 1.1.5).

• Known Issues:
  
  • In rare cases, the radio region-setting menu contains three regions only after performing a software update
  • Please perform the software update again to obtain all five regions
  • NOTE: Region setting is only available for devices including the EMIP300 radio module

ARRI has released Software Update Packet (SUP) 2.0 for SXU-1 for the Single Axis Unit SXU-1. ARRI highly recommends updating the SXU-1 to this software update package.

IMPORTANT NOTE: This software update (SUP 2.0) requires the installation of the previous SUP versions: SUP pre 1.1 and SUP 1.1.5. No matter which current SUP version you have installed (SUP 1.0/SUP 1.1.4/SUP 1.1.5), it is necessary to first install SUP pre 1.1 then SUP 1.1.5 and as the final step SUP 2.0.

Please install the SXU-1 SUP in the specified order of steps. Not following this order could damage your SXU-1 and require repair at an ARRI Service Center.
