Schneider Clear UV Haze Single Coating (010) Filter - 82mm

The Schneider Clear UV Haze Single Coating (010) Filter - 82mm blocks invisible ultraviolet (UV) light, which can cause blur and to which many color films react with a blue cast. UV Filters are ideal for photography at high altitudes, by the sea, and in regions with very clear air (high visibility). Images gain brilliance and disturbing blue casts are avoided. This screw-on filter features 82mm threads for use on compatible still and video lenses.

As the glass is colorless, color rendition is not altered, aside from the elimination of the unwanted blue cast, and no increase in exposure is required. This makes the UV Filter suitable for protection of the front lens element against dust, flying sand, water spray, et al., and it can be kept on the lens at all times. This filter is ideal for analog color, black-and-white, and digital photography.

Each glass surface is vacuum coated with one layer of Anti-Reflection coating. This single layer helps to prevent internal ghosting and reflections. It also improves light transmission from approximately 92% (uncoated glass) to over 98%.
