ARRI Codex Compact Drive Dock (Thunderbolt 3)

The ARRI Codex Compact Drive Dock (Thunderbolt 3) features a significantly higher maximum transfer speed (up to 20 Gbit/s) and is compatible with both Mac OS and Windows, without the need for additional drivers. This dock can transfer all data from a full Compact Drive from your ARRI ALEXA Mini LF in under 7 minutes (or 12 minutes if using an Apple Thunderbolt 3 to 2 Adapter). Even on older Thunderbolt 2 systems, this backwards compatible dock offers a significant speed advantage compared to a USB-C reader.

Mac users have the option to install the free Codex Device Manager software, providing the capability to use High Density Encoding (HDE) of ARRIRAW footage on the fly. With HDE enabled in the app preferences, MXF/ARRIRAW footage will automatically show up as HDE file sequences (.arx). An HDE ARRIRAW file uses about 40% less storage space than the original MXF/ARRIRAW file. HDE is completely lossless; when decoded it is a bit-for-bit perfect match to its original file.

NOTE: Transfer time estimates do not include checksum verification or HDE encoding. Transfer time will vary, depending on your system configuration (and maximum speed of your target drive). If the Thunderbolt port is shared with other devices, the connection speed will be reduced. Media sold separately.
