Core SWX Hypercore XL 293Wh 14.8V Li-ion Battery - V-Mount

The Core SWX HyperCore XL 293Wh 14.8V Li-ion Battery - V-Mount employs the very latest in Lithium-Ion technology. HyperCore cells are constructed with the specific purpose of handling and sustaining high power draws, and the HyperCore XL can withstand up to a 15A draw (20A peak for 2 sec.) for extended periods of time without diminishing service life. 

The battery cells are incased in an over-molded, rubberized housing for additional protection against accidental impacts and a non-slip grip. A multipurpose Runtime LCD on the front of the pack provides battery status, and a 4-stage LED display on the side of the battery can be used to check capacity at a glance. Not only will the LCD inform you how much time you have left when in use (in hours and minutes), it will also provide an estimate based on a dummy load of 30W when in standby mode (disconnected from any device). This serves a third purpose as a charge indicator, by computing remaining charge time while on a charger.

It's important to note that this battery does not simply compute a basic calculation when deciphering runtime. Recognizing the most important feature of the battery for a professional, the proprietary on-board fuel computer leverages the HyperCore’s "smart" battery platform to take an aggregate view of the past usage of the battery (charge and discharge performance) to provide the most accurate runtime calculation, down to the minute.

Each battery is outfitted with an accelerometer to detect motion, which is tied to a clocking algorithm to gauge how long the battery is not in use. A common issue with all battery packs is self-discharge when disconnected. HyperCore battery packs go to sleep or hibernate when there is no battery usage or movement after a 48 hour period. The LCD shuts down as well to preserve state of charge. Once you pick up the battery, or the battery detects the slightest movement, the battery pack comes back to life at maximum capacity.

As with all Core SWX batteries, the HyperCore series has an integrated, unregulated P-Tap port on the side of the battery, allowing you to power any accessory accepting 12-16.8V DC. In addition, it is one of the first battery products in the industry to incorporate a USB power output port for charging your mobile device.

While any charger within the Core SWX lineup will charge HyperCore, this battery series is also the most cross platform, charger-compatible in the industry today. This V-mount battery will also charge on IDX and Sony V-Mount chargers, allowing you to maximize the service life of your existing equipment.
