CW Sonderoptic, sister company to Leica Camera, manufactures and designs the Leica cine lenses. Recently our service technicians from Los Angeles and New York received an extensive, factory-level training on the Leica cine lenses from Ulrich Schröder, Head of Lens Assembly at CW Sonderoptic. Our team was trained on performing in-depth repairs and maintenance on both the Summilux-C and Summicron-C lenses including but not limited to cleaning, some lubrication, ring-torque adjustment, back focus adjustment, and front element replacement.
AbelCine's service facilities are equipped with the state-of-the-art optical calibration tools, including K8 and K9 MTF test systems, which allow us to maintain strict tolerances, optimum MTF performance and exceptional optical quality when performing all lens service tasks. This is no easy feat, considering the extremely precise nature of the Leica primes.
AbelCine now supports all major optical brands. We can fully service and repair Angeniuex, Canon, Cooke, Fujinon, Sony, Zeiss, and a variety of other lenses, and we are excited to add Leica / CW Sonderoptic to that list.
