AbelCine's underwater training is designed to familiarize participants on the setup, test and operation (STO) of Gates professional underwater imaging systems. Upon successful completion of the workshop, attendees will be certified as Gates Ambassadors with valuable skills to help them secure work on a variety of TV, cinema and documentary productions.
The workshop is taught by instructors from Gates and AbelCine. John Ellerbrock, President of Gates Underwater Products and designer of several Gates housings, teaches with Ron Lagerlof, owner of Visioneering Design and an experienced underwater filmmaker. The AbelCine instructors are Brandon Zachary, Rental Manger at AbelCine's Los Angeles location, who is a PADI Dive Master and certified Gates Guide, and Ian McCausland, Camera Technology Specialist with an open water certification from the National Association of Underwater Instructors (NAUI).
