The first thing that catches the eye is the wooden element below the focus handle. It is designed to act as a rest for the palm of your hand. Additionally, the swing arm can be positioned to act as a support post for the right hand while the left is used to pull focus. This is a great feature, considering that many of today's popular cameras are more-or-less cube-shaped. Another great feature is that the drive gear can be quickly and easily repositioned as a reverse gear. This is a huge help when using still lenses that have focus oriented in the opposite direction from cine lenses. Watch my video above for a tour of the focus unit and how it interfaces with a camera and a Zeiss compact prime.
