Announced at NAB 2012, Canon is starting to ship their lightweight cinema zooms, with the first being the CN-E 30-105 T2.8. Featuring an 11-blade iris, a close focus of just 24 inches, and a low weight of 4.85 pounds, the lens is available in both PL or Canon EF mounts.
The marked rings for focus, iris, and zoom use luminous paint and are uniquely angled so that they can be read by both the assistant and the operator. The front housing diameter is 114mm, with an interior threading for a 105mm screw-in filter, while the image circle projected by the lens is 31.4mm - covering Super-35, as well as RED 5K, Alexa 4:3, and the full sensor of the Phantom Flex. Many of these characteristics are shared with its companion lens the CN-15.5-47 T2.8.
