The Cameo Precision Focus System is a complete system designed for efficient evaluation of the focus accuracy, optical quality and condition of your cameras and lenses for use in the field.

It is comprised of a 40" Cameo Resolution Analysis Chart mounted on a sleek, aluminum rail and carriage assembly. The unique features and design of the chart along with the ability to move the chart and carriage easily and precisely along the rail provides for a faster and more accurate method of checking lens focus marks and overall resolution of the camera and lens combination.

The system can transform the experience of your rental preps and equipment tests with qualitative precision. High-quality craftsmanship means the system is virtually maintenance-free, while the sleek, smart single rail design provides a technical element that can enhance the look and professional feel of your facility.

RAILS

The lightweight system is built on a single, aluminum rail, for a sleek and narrow design. The 40" Analysis chart can be moved by hand to any distance desired. The optional Digital Distance Readout displays the distance from the focus plane to the chart. The motorized option adds an iPad for remote control of chart distance, and light intensity and color. The motorized option also offers the most efficient checking of lens markings and camera functionality. The system is customizable to fit the length and height of your space.

RESOLUTION ANALYSIS CHARTS

The Cameo 40" Resolution Analysis Chart is designed especially for rental houses, service centers and institutions. It offers color and greyscale for at-a-glance verification of camera color and gamma reproduction as well as patterns representing frequencies that exceed the resolving power of 4K cameras. The 40" size is convenient for testing wide focal lengths and includes a half-size inner frame for testing telephoto focal lengths. The 40" chart can be customized with your logo. Cameo 20" Resolution Analysis Charts and Bowtie Charts are also available as add-ons for use in the field.

CONTROL

The Cameo Precision Focus System base model is manually controlled and can be outfitted with these additional options.

Digital Distance Readout

In manual configuration, a Digital Distance Readout can be added to the system. This includes an encoder and 10" touch screen, which displays the distance of the chart in either feet and inches, or meters. A DMX enabled light can also be controlled from the touch screen.

 

Motorized with iPad Interface

This system includes a motor and encoder that continuously tracks the chart position with a precision of 1/4mm and displays the distance on an iPad. A DMX enabled light can also be controlled from the iPad. An iPad Control System is included as part of the motorization kit. This interface allows users to quickly and easily move the chart to an exact distance without having to leave the workstation. The elegant user interface also controls the DMX lighting (on/off, color temperature, and intensity).

The Motorization Kit includes a Linux server and rack components, 4RU rack with shelf, and parts for installation of ethernet and DMX cables to rail and server for the iPad control.

PEDESTAL WORKSTATION

Meticulously crafted for maximum efficiency, the pedestal workstation provides a solid platform for mounting a camera and monitor. It offers two shelves, two power strips, and a drawer for any tools needed for a camera checkout.

OPTIONS:

  • The workstation is available a choice of wood finishes to suit the design of your space: black, brown, grey, or unfinished.

  • Mounting options include a hi-hat to secure a tripod head, and a monitor post mount.

  • Wheels can be added for applications where the system will be used on a track with a wall-mounted chart or as lens projector workstation. Track can be added to your system as needed.

LIGHTING

The system works with any DMX capable light, such as the ARRI L5, ARRI SkyPanel S30, or Litepanels Astra 1x1. Custom lighting can be added your system, if you don’t already have an existing light.
