The Tiffen Green Soft Edge 3 Graduated Filter (4x4) is designed to add green to sky and landscapes while leaving part of the image in natural color. The 3 level of graduation provides less green coloration than the level 4 and more than the level 2 filter.
Like all graduated filters, this one is a dense color at one edge then tapers to clear. Since this graduated filter tapes to clear by the middle of the filter, with a soft edge transition in between, the image you produce will be more realistic in nature since the natural colors of the sky (or wherever you leave the clear portion) will shine through in the footage you capture.
