Overview
This Tiffen Star 4 Point 3MM Filter offers (4x5.65) a star pattern effect on light sources or bright reflections. The star effect becomes more pronounced when used on bright, larger light sources. You can rotate this filter for creative control.
This filter fits in filter holders and trays sized for 4x5.65 filters.
Combining this star effect filter with a lens featuring a circular aperture may not produce the star effect that you seek. Same applies for lenses with the moniker round or rounded aperture blades. Try using a lens with a small aperture to achieve the traditional start effect. You may need to perform camera tests prior to your shoot in order to ensure you achieve the look your director desires.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Please take care when utilizing this filter for sunburst star effects. Take care to protect both your eyes and your camera from sun damage.
