Overview
This set of Leica R Lenses Rehoused by Van Diemen produce images with a beautiful warm color tone, smooth focus fall off, and creamy sharpness without being harsh. The lenses are sharp and have very few aberrations for vintage lens, however they still have a vintage soft look and beautifully render skin tones.
The donor set of lenses for these lenses came directly from the Leica factory in the late 1990s. These Van Diemen rehousings are constructed using the their patented Wireform™ lens drive system. This mechanical drive system provides very smooth focus movements, durability and resilience under severe conditions of use. The lenses have been designed with the requirement for good close focus performance producing a Macro capability. These lenses fully cover the Academy Format and larger, so most can also be used with larger frame sizes.
