Laowa 24mm Macro Probe Lens

The Laowa 24mm f/14 2X Macro Probe is the world's first consumer-grade probe lens which focuses from 2:1 macro to infinity, with a compelling wide angle "Bug Eye" perspective. The wide angle design means much greater depth of field at close distances than is possible with a conventional telephoto macro lens, preserving more background detail. The front barrel of the lens is waterproof with an integrated LED ring light is mounted at the tip of the lens. 

This probe can cover a Full Frame image sensor and is very lightweight for easy field use. ARRI PL is standard on this lens. This "Cine-mod" version features standard gear focus and aperture rings, specifically designed for macro cinematography.

The Laowa 24mm allows you to achieve remarkably close focus (0.8"/2cm @ 2:1), preserving a great amount of detail and texture. At the same time, you can enjoy a compelling, wide angle (84.1°) "Bug Eye" view so that more of the background details can be included in the shot. You can easily create a stunning macro perspective that no other lens can achieve.

Take advantage of the 2:1 maximum magnification to shoot very small insects and reveal details that cannot be seen with the naked eye. The probe is particularly useful for videographers, as both fine detail and environmental backgrounds can be captured in one shot.

 Long, Tubular Lens Barrel

Thanks to the 15.7" (40cm) barrel, the user can focus very close to the subject while keeping the camera and operator at a reasonable distance. This feature is very useful for photographing a frog hiding in the bushes without leaves blocking the shot, or shooting footage of a poisonous reptile from a safe distance. The tubular lens barrel also enables shooting dolly shots through tiny apertures and in compact spaces. Imagine being able to slide the lens between candles on a birthday cake, or inside a drink bottle. LED Ring Light

An LED ring light (powered by an optional external battery) is embedded in the lens tip to provide additional lighting for focus assistance. In most cases, the more lighting you have on your subject, the better your shot will look. An included variable-output control cable allows you to adjust the light output of the LED.
