We are excited to bring the popular #ColoristMeetup to NYC and the East Coast!
Join us on Thursday, February 21 for a special evening of sharing ideas, exchanging knowledge, and hanging out with your fellow color professionals in a fun, ego-free environment.
At this first NY meetup, we have a fantastic lineup of guests:
Alan Gordon (Post Pro Gumbo) will show off some stunning HDR night aerials of Manhattan shot with the Sony VENICE (currently one of the most popular Netflix-approved cameras), and will discuss his experiences working on the final HDR grade. The footage will be showcased on a professional HDR monitor.
Dado Valentic (Colour Training) will demonstrate what the future might be holding with the first public demo of JOI - AI color assist.
Additionally, Atomos and LaCie will give us a first look at some of their newest pre-NAB releases!
Speakers
Alan Gordon
Born and raised in New Orleans, Alan attended NOCCA|Riverfront school where he specialized in Media Arts. He moved up to New York for NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, where as a DIT, he worked on the Academy Award winning short film, Curfew.
In 2010, Alan transitioned to post-production and color grading where his eye for color and detail, as well as his technical skills, brought about work on feature films, commercials, and music videos. The films have screened at numerous festivals around the world including Sundance, Toronto, Berlin, SXSX, and Tribeca. His clients include Beyonce, Vogue, NBCUniversal, Budweiser, Knob Creek, Ford, and iHeartRadio.
Though now he considers himself a New Yorker, New Orleans will always be close to Alan’s heart—the company name is a nod to Alan’s famous gumbo recipe. Learn more at postprogumbo.com
