Overview
***PLEASE NOTE: This virtual training session will take place in the PACIFIC TIME ZONE.***
Join us for RAW, LOG & Uncompressed live from the comfort of your home, on the road, or anywhere. In this interactive session, which covers the same topics as our in-person RAW, LOG & Uncompressed class, you will see the instructor and be able to ask questions.
This class takes place on the Zoom video conference platform, which is free to join and easy to use. Instructions will be sent to you before the class begins. Once the class starts, you will see the instructor, the gear being used, and the instructor's presentation. You will be able to ask questions via a live, moderated chat. After the class ends, you will also receive a copy of the instructor's PowerPoint or Keynote presentation, and a recording of the class.
Many of today’s latest cameras offer Log & Raw recording modes, giving extended dynamic range and versatility in post. This class covers the major shooting formats available to cinematographers, as well as the technical information behind each format, and its relationship to the final image.
Shooting in Log & Raw presents many challenges both in the field and in the post-production process. You will be presented with technical and aesthetic implications of shooting in different Log & Raw modes, and discussions will be part theory and part practical application. We will discuss different camera formats, demonstrate methods for exposing, and explore post production tools used to give the best results.
