Overview
The Sony CLM-FHD5 Clip-On LCD Monitor features functions such as Enlarging and Peaking for precise focusing, False Color, Video Level Marker for exposure adjustment assistance, and S-Log Display Assist for extra-reliable shooting. The CLM-FHD5 uses the same types of batteries as several Sony cameras for more convenient operation in the field.
With Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution, the CLM-FHD5 displays crisp images, ensuring that you can focus accurately, expose images in the way you want, see precisely what is being recorded in low-contrast images, and more, while you look at the images in extra-fine detail.
Enlarging & Peaking
To check focus, you can enlarge the normal view by 3x or 6x, or use Peaking function to automatically determine which parts of the picture are in relatively sharp focus. False color function displays video signal levels of an entire image’s input as color distribution to help you set exposure precisely. Six colors are used; red indicates 108% (video signal level) or more and violet indicates 3% (video signal level) or less.
Video Level Marker
The Video Level Marker function uses colors* to warn about image input areas that are overexposed/underexposed relative to the target video signal level that you choose (among five video signal levels).
*NOTE: Relative to the user-selected level (indicated in green), dark gray indicates lower video signal level (areas of lower exposure), light gray indicates higher video signal level (areas of higher exposure), blue indicates blocked-up shadows and red indicates blown-out highlights.
Marker Displays & Framing
Choose suitable frame proportions to record movies. Select an 80% or 90% frame for viewing in either of two aspect ratios and see how the full image is to be cropped for TV viewing. Choose among four Marker display settings according to particular conditions for playback of your footage on a TV: 80% (16:9), 90% (16:9), 80% (4:3) and 90% (4:3).
S-Log Display Assist
This function displays the S-Log image with brightness and contrast close to those of the image as it appears in regular shooting mode, for easier focusing and monitoring.
Adjustment & Mounting
A flexible shoe adapter allows you to pan and tilt the monitor freely. The monitor swivels approximately 180° to the left or right, and 90° forward or backward. Use threaded sockets on the top and bottom of the monitor to mount it on a tripod, bracket, or other support.
Controls
Controls on the monitor, including two customizable buttons, are positioned for simple operation (e.g., the ZOOM/SELECT button is in the corner for easy access).
Battery Power
The monitor uses the same W, M, and V batteries as cameras do, making it ideal for long production schedules without also having to equip special batteries in the field. There is also an optional AC adapter that is useful for long duration operation without batteries.
