Overview
The Laowa Nanomorph Zoom Series features a 28-55mm and a 50-100mm with a maximum aperture of T2.9, for Super 35 sensors. Averaging ~3.31 lbs, the Nanomorph Zoom is a unique tool for cinematographers to create various cinematic zoom effects and shoot high-quality widescreen footage without compromising quality or flexibility.
Revolutionary Compact Anamorphic Zoom
Nanomorph Zooms measure approximately ø3.34” x 7.42” and weigh around 3.31 lbs. These lenses are the most lightweight and compact S35 front anamorphic zoom lenses available on the market. With a versatile focal range of 28- 100mm, they can be effectively used in various shooting scenarios, including car rigs, steadicams, and shoulder rigs. Additionally, their compact design allows for easy transportation in a hard case.
Up to 3.6x Zoom Range
The Nanomorph Zoom series offers lens options of 28-55mm and 50-100mm, providing an impressive zoom range of nearly 3.6x. These lenses are versatile and can be used in various shooting situations, eliminating the need for frequent lens changes. With this zoom range, filmmakers can achieve numerous cinematic zoom effects such as crash zoom, dolly zoom, and slow zoom, all while preserving the anamorphic qualities of the footage.
Constant 1.5x Squeeze Ratio
Thanks to its unique anamorphic design, the Nanomorph Zoom series guarantees a consistent 1.5x squeeze ratio, regardless of the focusing distance.
Constant T2.9 Aperture Across Zoom Range
The Nanomorph Zoom series boasts a maximum aperture of T2.9 across zoom range. This wide aperture allows for outstanding light-gathering capabilities, ensuring optimal exposure even in challenging lighting conditions.
With the Nanomorph Zoom, filmmakers can confidently capture stunning anamorphic footage with remarkable clarity, detail, and depth of field control. Whether shooting in low light environments or seeking to achieve a beautiful shallow depth of field, the Nanomorph Zoom's maximum T2.9 aperture delivers outstanding results, making it a top choice for professional cinematographers and enthusiasts alike.
Minimal Chromatic Aberration
Nanomorph Zooms offer superior optical performance without distracting color fringing, even when shooting at the largest T2.9 aperture.
Parfocal Design
The advantage of the Nanomorph Zoom series is that both lenses maintain focus even while zooming, allowing for more accurate focusing at maximum focal length. This convenient feature allows cinematographers to zoom back to a shorter focal length to compose the image effectively.
Cinematic Amber, Blue, Silver Flare Options
The Nanomorph Zooms are available in amber, blue, and silver options. The blue flare is great for creating a sci-fi or vintage look, while the amber and silver options offer warmer and more neutral flares respectively. With the silver flare option, the flare color can be adjusted according to the color of the light source, making it a versatile and popular artistic choice for filmmakers.
Smooth and Organic Oval Bokeh
The oval bokeh effect produced by anamorphic lenses is a highly sought- after feature in the world of cinema. The Nanomorph Zooms can produce an even more flattering bokeh effect than 1.33x anamorphic lenses. The focus roll-off is organic and it creates a cinematic look that filmmakers have long desired.
Up to 2’7” Min. Focusing Distance
Nanomorph Zoom 50-100mm has a 2'7” close focusing distance, which enable filmmakers to capture close-up shots easily while presenting a sharp imagery. With the large aperture of T2.9, it can create a shallower depth of field and accentuate the organic and oval bokeh effect.
By default, Nanomorph Zooms come in ARRI PL mount. However, additional interchangeable bayonets are available for purchase . These bayonet options include Sony E, Canon RF, Nikon Z, and Fuji X, as well as L Mount.
