The Panasonic Lumix DC-S1R Mirrorless Digital Camera (Body Only) - Leica L Mount features a mirrorless, full frame (36mm x 24mm), 47.3MP CMOS sensor for realistic detail, and both focus and image stabilization systems for exceptional clarity. The user can capture eight consecutive images automatically with Body I.S. (Image Stabilizer) and high-speed processing Venus Engine for a 187-megapixel equivalent (16,736 x 11,168-pixel) RAW file. A traditional low-pass filter is omitted for greater image sharpness.

Photo Performance

The DC-S1R features an expanded maximum sensitivity of ISO 51200, and a fast 9 fps continuous shooting rate. A high-precision shutter unit offers ultra-high speed 1/8,000 second performance, and 1/320 second flash sync speed (the guide number decreases at 1/320 second; only when set to M mode or S mode). The newly designed shutter increases rigidity and durability for a 400k shutter life.

LUMIX S Series cameras fine-tune contrast, highlight, shadow, saturation, hue, sharpness, noise reduction, and other settings in steps of 0.5 (adjustable settings vary by mode). In addition to the standard 3:2, 4:3, 16:9, and 1:1 aspect ratios, 65:24 (Film Panorama) and 2:1 (6 x 12cm) aspect ratios are available for photo shooting.

Low-Light Performance & Autofocus

Higher sensitivity and optimized sensor tuning make accurate autofocus possible in starlight and other low-contrast scenes, increasing LUMIX's renowned low-light AF to the -6EV level (at ISO 100, f/1.4, AFS; 100% contrast target). 480 fps and DFD technology offer high-precision autofocus of approx. 0.08 seconds.

Nine AF modes help achieve outstanding full-frame focus even in challenging situations. A new 1-Area+ AF mode adjusts focus using the auxiliary AF area when subjects move out of the main focus area. The user can fine-tune the directional characteristics of autofocus to match different subjects, shooting locations, and conditions. Advanced AI recognizes both human and common animal profiles to accurately focus on people and various wildlife, letting you concentrate on composition while the camera does the focusing.

Burst Shooting & 6K / 4K PHOTO Modes

Shoot with extended 30 fps burst, then choose and extract the frames you want in 6K PHOTO* mode in 18 megapixel resolution imaging. High-speed 60 fps 4K PHOTO freezes motion even faster. A Drive Mode Dial makes it easy to change modes. For burst, modes I and II can be configured and selected. For example, the user can switch between RAW burst and 6K PHOTO, instantly selecting the mode that matches your subject.

*NOTE: 6K PHOTO is a high speed burst shooting function that cuts a still image out of a 4:3 or 3:2 video footage with approximately 18-megapixel (approx. 6000 x 3000 effective pixel count) that the 6K image manages. Maximum recording time of 10 minutes in 6K PHOTO; 15 minutes in 4K PHOTO.

Video Performance

The LUMIX S1 captures up to 15 minutes of 4K 60p video (QFHD 4K: 3840 x 2160 MP4) in a full frame format, even in rapidly moving scenes. Heat dissipation allows 4K 30p/24p and full-HD recording with no time limit. The S1R can also capture up to 180 fps in Full HD (1920 x 1080). The camera features a durable HDMI Type A terminal and included cable lock holder to prevent accidental disconnection on set.

Audio Options

The S1R also features LINE input for external audio devices via a 3.5mm MIC jack, and a 3.5mm Headphone jack for monitoring. The camera is also compatible with the Panasonic DMW-XLR1 XLR Microphone Adaptor (sold separately), enabling the user to connect an XLR microphone and achieve high-quality stereo sound, record lip-synched vocals, control volume, gain, low cut, automatic level, and other professional-level videography functions.

Form Factor & Controls

The camera's ergonomically designed grip feels natural in the hand. A triaxial tilt rear 3.2" RGBW LCD monitor enables the user to shoot vertically at low and high angles. White (W) pixels maximize brightness for outstanding visibility, even in direct sunlight. Night Mode enhances shooting dark scenes like starry skies (shoot while framing by increasing gain with Live View Boost; enlarge tiny objects like stars up to 20x with MF Assist 20x).

The camera's Status LCD provides instant access to 19 settings, including F-number and shutter speed. When power is off, the LCD also indicates battery level and remaining shots. A dedicated button illuminates the LCD for 5 secs. Shooting controls are grouped together, with most commonly accessed controls placed within easy thumb reach. Buttons differ in size and shape and dials feature different textures for tactile differentiation. Buttons are illuminated for easy operation in low light and dark shooting conditions.

An Operation Lock Lever prevents unintentional use of buttons and dials (including front and rear dials, joystick, cursor button, touch screen and other controls). A Function (Fn) Lever enables the user to switch instantly between two saved functions (e.g., toggle between two Photo Style selections). You can choose up to 20 functions, including AF Mode, Photo Style, Picture Quality and Shutter Type.

Media

The S1R features dual SD UHS-II / XQD Memory Card Slots, and the user can specify slots for different recording formats. This is ideal for recording long videos, or as a backup (you can relay automatically to a second card when the first one is full, or record to both slots for redundancy).

IMPORTANT NOTE: Cannot be used with AVCHD format.

Power 

The user can supply power to the camera while charging the battery, via an included USB 3.1 Type-C adaptor (compatible with the USB Power Delivery standard). This is particularly convenient during long shoots in the studio and on location.

Wireless Compatibility

5GHz WiFi (IEEE802.11ac) functionality enables the user to connect the S1R to a smartphone or tablet, send photos to these devices, and control your camera remotely via Panasonic's LUMIX Sync app (available on Android / iOS).

Durability

The durable magnesium alloy die-cast frame is sealed to help protect every seam, dial, and button. The camera is dust and splash-resistant and is designed for use in temperatures as low as 14°F (-10°C).

NOTE: Dust and Splash Resistance do not guarantee that damage will not occur if this camera is subjected to direct contact with dust and water.

The Panasonic LUMIX S 24-105mm f/4 Macro O.I.S - Leica L Mount is a versatile wide-angle to medium-telephoto zoom with excellent performance across the entire range. This lens enables 0.5x macro shooting with a minimum focus distance of 11.8" (0.3m) for photographing small objects up close. Features the interchangeable Full Frame L-Mount designed by Leica.

The O.I.S. (Optical Image Stabilizer) in the lens effectively compensates for hand-shake, making it easy to use without a tripod. High-precision Auto Focus and a focus clutch mechanism enables both instant AF/MF switching and accurate manual focusing. Focus breathing is also suppressed, making the 24-105mm an excellent choice for video recording.

This lens features lightweight construction and a dust/freeze/splash-resistant design.

NOTE: 5-Axis Dual I.S. 2 can be used with the LUMIX S1R and S1 camera, as of February 1, 2019.
