Overview
The Sony VENICE 4K Live Bundle was developed with MultiDyne’s Emmy award-winning SilverBack V Fiber Optic Camera Adapter. The bundle transforms the VENICE from a cinema camera into a live event camera, allowing crews to embrace cinematic storytelling into their live productions, whether that is through the use of cinema lenses, shallow depth of field or low light environments.

MultiDyne Integration with VENICE
The SilverBack-VB system provides a robust, full bandwidth fiber optic link between VENICE and your truck, control room, or “video village” position. The system puts all of the signals needed for VENICE multicamera 4K/UHDTV production onto a single tactical or SMPTE hybrid fiber cable, ensuring robust, trouble-free connectivity on any studio or remote production.
The system can transport up to one 12G-SDI and one 3G-SDI signal bi-directionally between the camera and Base Station. RCP paint control is supported using the serial data connection. Genlock, Intercom, Tally and GPIO are also provided. Power is supplied to the camera using the JUICE-48 power supply and SMPTE fiber cable.
NOTE: Super35 modes: 4K 17:9 and UHD 16:9 supported as standard resolutions. Full Frame modes: 6K 17:9 and 5.7K 16:9 with optional CBKZ-3610F license.
Dual Base ISO
VENICE features dual base ISO, meaning that the 6K sensor has Base ISO500 and Base ISO2500. The 6K sensor excels in low-light, High Dynamic Range capture with an exposure latitude from 6 stops over to 9 stops under 18% Middle Gray, for a total in excess of 15 stops.
Internal 8-step Mechanical ND Filters
VENICE incorporates a servo-controlled 8-step Mechanical ND filter mechanism built into the camera chassis. It offers a massive ND of 0.3 (1/2 = 1 stop) to 2.4 (1/256 = 8 stops) range that reduces time lost on set changing external filters. The ND filters also greatly increase flexibility when used in a live environment with uncontrolled lighting.
Internal 4K XAVC and HD ProRes Recording
High Quality 4K and HD video codecs are provided for internal recording as standard. X-OCN/RAW recording is supported with optional AXS-R7 recorder.
Color Space Selection
Input color spaces: S-Log3/S-Gamut3, S-Log3/S-Gamut3.Cine, Rec. 709/User Gamma, Rec. 2020/User Gamma, HLG are available providing support for any production.
